Covid-19 Safety Plan Restaurant FAQ

Restaurant Covid-19 Safety FAQ

How will this policy change effect my dining experience? When you arrive for your reservation you will be asked to show proof of vaccination at the hostess stand before being seated. After that, we hope you enjoy a relaxing and fun meal!

Can my unvaccinated child dine with us?
Children under 12 that are not yet eligible for the vaccine may accompany a fully vaccinated adult. These children should wear a mask inside when not seated at a table.

What counts as proof of vaccination?
Proof of vaccination includes the Excelsior Pass, a physical CDC issued vaccination card or a photo of a CDC issued vaccination card, in addition to a photo ID for verification.

What happens if someone in my party forgets their proof of vaccination?
We will not allow anyone to dine who cannot provide proof of vaccination, so please do not leave home without it.

Can I dine on the patio if I am unvaccinated?
We understand that outdoor dining is considered to be a safe activity regardless of vaccination status. However, our restrooms are not centrally located to the patio and we cannot allow unvaccinated individuals to walk through the dining room and elevator lobby area to access our restrooms. Additionally, we often move guests inside when unexpected rain comes through the area. In order to continue to operate in this manner, we must ensure that all diners, both inside and outside, are vaccinated. We know this is disappointing to some guests but we hope you understand our goal is to create the safest environment for our team.

Can an unvaccinated guest with a recent negative test dine at The Roundhouse?
No, a recent negative test is not an adequate substitute for vaccination. Any guest who is eligible to be vaccinated must show proof of vaccination in order to dine. Our regular patrons are expecting a fully vaccinated dining experience and we will not make any exceptions to this policy.

Can a guest dine if they have a medical exemption for the vaccine from a doctor?

No, only fully vaccinated individuals are allowed to dine. Our regular patrons are expecting a fully vaccinated dining experience and we will not make any exceptions to this policy.

Will guests or staff be required to wear masks?
We will continue to adhere to the NY State and CDC mask guidelines which state that fully vaccinated individuals are not required to wear a mask inside or outside. Unvaccinated children who are accompanying a vaccinated adult do not need to wear a mask outside but should continue to wear a mask inside, unless seated. Some of our fully-vaccinated staff members chose to continue to wear a mask for their safety.

What will happen when they lower the vaccination eligibility age?
We are anticipating the vaccination eligibility age to be lowered to 5 years old at some point this fall or early winter. Two months after the eligibility changes, we will update our policy so that adults and children 5 years old and over must show proof of vaccination to dine.

I received the first shot, but not the second in the 2 part Moderna or Pfizer vaccination series. Is it okay for me to dine?
No, only fully vaccinated individuals are allowed to dine. An individual is considered “fully vaccinated” 14 days after receiving the second dose in a two-dose Covid-19 vaccine series (e.g., Pfizer or Moderna) or a single dose Covid-19 vaccine (e.g., Johnson & Johnson).

Members of my party were vaccinated abroad and not have a CDC issued vaccination card. What documentation can they show for proof of vaccination?

For those vaccinated outside of the US, an official record of one of the following vaccines is acceptable – Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca/SK Bioscience, Serum Institute of India/COVISHIELD, Vaxzevria, Sinopharm, Sinovac.
